Strike a Match!
Welcome to the firepaper development blog. firepaper is a suite of tools I’m developing to help organize the everyday management tasks I encounter as a professional web developer, like maintaining client account information, project management, time tracking and invoicing.
There are a lot of individual web services out there that meet some of these needs separately already. For independent designers and small design firms, getting all of that functionality together means using multiple services, and paying the multiple service fees that come with them.
If you constantly find yourself collecting and trying to integrate a bunch of separate web services, that’s a good sign that these various services are related and belong together. Instead of focusing on a single activity, firepaper aims to look at the whole picture with the ultimate goal of centralizing and simplifying the entire management process.
The firepaper development blog will track the progress of the project and also be a place to discuss the issues involved with managing the work we do as web designers.
liking the logo. the flame makes it.
Great looking design, very web 2.0. I hope the project is going well, it has been some time since this was published, any updates? Very interested.
Thanks! Portions of the project are currently in use internally. Daily use obviously is a great way to get an understanding of what you need a tool to do, and how it should do it. Unfortunately, I don’t have a formal schedule for release at this point, but I’m definitely looking forward to ramping things up in the next few months.
Jim. Looking forward to seeing this develop.
